MyDataWork is the work-context layer for analytics and AI — it organizes the files, workflows, and decisions behind data work, and connects them to the outcomes they drive.
Analysts run the business on files, dashboards, and scripts scattered across a dozen tools — and the context behind that work lives in individual heads and email threads. When someone changes roles, it walks out the door; when leadership asks what the data team is worth, no one can show it. Most analysts have no system for any of this. MyDataWork is built for that reality: it works immediately, understands the tools analysts already use, and turns their scattered work into an organized, provable, AI-ready record — without becoming a project of its own.
Your work, organized automatically. MyDataWork catalogs your files, links them to the use cases they support, surfaces AI-powered recommendations, and keeps a living record of what you do and why — so nothing, and no one's context, is lost when projects change hands.
See the work, and prove its value. Get real visibility into what your team actually does, governance that emerges from the work instead of top-down mandates, shared connectors and reuse, and organic, bottom-up evidence of where your data investment is paying off.
Most of an analyst's impact hides in files and context no one else can see. Make it visible and the value becomes obvious.
Honest baselines and real outcomes build more trust than inflated numbers ever will.
Organizing your work shouldn't become its own initiative. Value in minutes, not a rollout.
Agentic AI is only as good as the context it's grounded in — and the work layer is that context.
Visibility and accountability can rise from the work itself, bottom-up — not from top-down mandates.
As AI reshapes analytics, the people who do the work — and the context they hold — matter more, not less.
Gib Bassett is the founder of MyDataWork and a longtime enterprise data and analytics leader with more than 20 years of experience across analytics software, AI, data platforms, and go-to-market strategy. He has worked with organizations across manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, financial services, and other industries to connect data capabilities to business value.
Gib founded MyDataWork after seeing the same pattern repeat across companies and technology cycles: valuable analytical work was everywhere, but the context around that work had no durable home. Practitioners were building critical dashboards, spreadsheets, SQL, notebooks, workflows, models, and reports, yet much of the knowledge behind that work lived in memory, messages, local files, and informal team habits.
MyDataWork was created to serve both sides of that problem. For analysts and data teams, it provides a practical way to organize the work they already do, explain what it supports, preserve context, and make their contributions easier to see. For data leaders, it creates a clearer view of the analytical estate: the assets, use cases, stakeholders, lineage, value, risks, modernization opportunities, and AI readiness signals that are often scattered across tools and teams.
